Take Control

Once your website is up and running, you have the option of taking control of the  upkeep and maintainence of the site yourself, or paying us to do that for you, based on a choice of optional approaches as detailed below.

Take Control Yourself

If you are reasonably comfortable using a computer and are happy using programmes such as MS Word, simple photographic software and web browsing, you will probably be quite capable of updating your own website using the tools provided for you by the 'hosting' company - UK2. Of course there is a question of the time you will have to commit to doing that, and it will also take a little time to get used to the software, but it is quite straightforward and is the cheapest option for you if your budget is tight. You might even enjoy doing it!

To help you with this, if you choose to take control of your own website maintenence, Signature Websites will update the details on the site for you so everything is directed to you, you have all the necessary passwords, and I will also provide you with an extensive introductory guide to the UK2 software to help you get going. Should you require any help though, don't worry, you can still ask me for support based on the ad-hoc update agreement outlined below.

or, Let Signature Websites   Do It For You

If you prefer, we can keep your website updated on a regular basis. You will still have to tell us what you want to add or change on the site and provide any images, but we can ensure the site gets updated quickly and effectively. This might be simply updating it with new photographs, adding information about new products or services, or adding some news or latest events relevant to your business.

Contracted Update Time
If you know that you are likely to want a reasonable number of updates throughout the year, you may wish to consider a pre-paid update contract. This is the most cost effective way of booking our time to regularly update your site. The use of the contracted time is totally flexible to be used as and when you need it up to the expiry date of the contract. We keep a note of the hours used up and can let you know at any time so that we both know what hours you have left. The initial contract period is a minimum 4 days worth of time (28 hours) over a twelve month period, but extra days time can be bought during this period if required.
Contracted support time always takes priority over ad-hoc updates for other clients, so your updates should be completed quickly.

Ad-hoc Updates
When there are likely to be only a few updates to your website every now and then, we can do this for you on an ad-hoc basis, just charging an hourly rate as and when you need it. You will normally be charged for one or more whole hours even if it is just a quick job, so you might want to wait until you have two or three changes to make before we do it to get best value for money, but you will be told in advance how long the changes you have requested will take. You will be invoiced after each update is completed. However, if you just want to chat through a change or update you would like to make, just drop us a line or give us a call. There is never any obligation - you are always in control!
