Pricing
 
One of the biggest complaints about web design services is that they are not clear and transparent about their pricing - both in terms of initial costs and any ongoing costs. Here at Signature Websites you can be sure that you will know exactly what you will be paying and what the likely future costs of running your website will be. And, because of how we work, we don't tie you in to using us for ongoing changes to the site if you don't want.
 
Running a small business ourselves, we recognise that marketing budgets are tight and that small businesses don't have a lot of spare cash to throw at ongoing web design and maintenance. That is one of the reasons why we offer you that chance to take full control over your website maintenance once the site is up and running, and we will help you to do that. However, if you want us to keep the site updated for you then that's great, but you will know in advance how much that will cost, what your commitment will be to that process and what we can and cannot do.
 
The cost of your website will be confirmed to you, in writing, in advance before you make any decision. To give you a feel for how much that might cost, the current pricing is highlighted below, but we would recommend you initially think about a total maximum budget of around £400 to £500 for a typical website. As with all websites, there will be some ongoing annual costs for your web hosting and domain names, but these are also indicated below.
 
 
 
 JARGON ALERT!!!
Domain Name 
This is the name, or address, of your website and is something you effectively 'rent' and pay a yearly charge for. Once you have bought it, no-one else can use the same domain name unless you stop paying the annual fee. The cost is quite low per year. There are two parts to the domain name, the name you choose (eg: Signaturewebsites) and the suffix on the end (eg: .co.uk). We will help you choose an available domain name for your business and order it on your behalf without any additional cost as part of our service. If you already have a domain name, it will need to be transferred to the hosting company we use which may incur a small charge. We will let you know in advance what this will be.
Web Hosting 
Your website, once created, is stored on a powerful computer at a hosting company. These organisations have computers powerful enough to allow hundreds or thousands of people to look at your web site at the same time if necessary. It is their responsibility to ensure the internet can see your website and in the case of UK2, the hosting company we use, they also provide software and tools to help you create and manage your website. You pay an annual charge for this service depending on the facilities you have.
